Hazardous Waste Collection
The Halifax Recycling Center will only be collecting household hazardous waste 4 times per year. All household hazardous waste must be in the original labeled sealed container, containers that are leaking and rusted will not be accepted. No Commercial or Industrial Hazardous Waste.
No Exceptions.

If you miss a Household Hazardous Waste day and still need to dispose of materials, visit the South Shore Recycling Cooperative web site, click on Hazardous Waste (We are an out of town resident) for info on Household Hazardous Waste collection events in nearby towns this fall. Please be advised there is a charge to dispose of your hazardous waste at the out of town events. Make sure you bring a check payable to Stericycle Environmental.  

Motor Oil, antifreeze, fluorescent tubes, rechargeable batteries, thermostats, thermometers and syringes can be disposed of during normal center hours.

Medications can be disposed of at the Police Station.
