We offer biweekly meetings facilitated by an experienced career coach with new topics each week, such as – Elevator Speech, resume building, 1 on 1 coaching, Linkedln computer lab, networking 101, access to job fairs, guest speakers, and more. Participating on a regular basis will give job seekers the many tools and strategies needed for a successful job search. Meetings are ongoing, the 1st Thursday of each month at Halifax Town Hall from 9am to 11am and the 3rd Thursday at Marshfield Council on Aging from 9am to 11am. Winter Assistance for Neighbors
Help would be appreciated if anyone lives near an elderly or disabled person to help clear their walkway, driveway, or car because many cannot afford to hire someone. Let us help one another get through this winter. Please call the Council on Aging if you can assist - 781-293-7313.
Council on Aging Mission
To identify the economic, health and cultural needs of our senior community and provide an environment of support, learning and socialization while striving to enrich lives by offering a wide array of programs, transportation and advocating on their behalf, when necessary, thereby promoting independence, wellness and dignity.
Council on Aging Duties & Responsibilities
The Council on Aging is an appointed (by the Board of Selectmen), five-person committee dedicated to providing services to the elderly of Halifax. These services include the Elderbus, Meals-on-Wheels, medical programs, lunch at Pope's Tavern, cultural and educational programs, and assistance in obtaining services from the State and Federal Governments.
The Town has placed a moratorium on adding outside links to the web site until the Town has had the time to work on adding information and links specific to the Town.
