As of March 29, 2015, there is one active proposed affordable housing (Chapter 40B) housing proposal in Halifax.
The proposed project would include 52 single-family homes off of the northern end of Franklin Street. Various iterations of this project have been proposed before but all were either never brought to the Zoning Board of Appeals for a comprehensive permit or else withdrawn before the Zoning Board of Appeals made a decision. At this time, the State agency, MassHousing, has given the initial site approval
The Halifax Zoning Board of Appeals will hold two meetings in August in connection with the application for a comprehensive permit for the Blackledge project.
The first will be on Monday, August 10 at 7:45pm to hear a request to extend the deadline to make a decision on the application.
The second will be on Monday, August 31 at 7:00pm to hear presentations by the developer in connection with the application.
If you have any questions about these meetings, please contact the Zoning Board of Appeals at 781-293-1736.
